<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of supplying lubricating oil to a cylinder block from a crank case. <P>SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine includes a variable compression ratio mechanism wherein the cylinder block 2 moves relative to the crank case 79, and an oil path connection mechanism 60 for connecting an oil path 75 in the crank case to an oil path 72 in the cylinder block. The oil path connection mechanism 60 includes a block side sliding member 122 arranged to the cylinder block 2 and a crank case side sliding member 123 arranged to the crank case 79, wherein the block side sliding member 122 slides with the crank case side sliding member 123. The oil path 122a of the block side sliding member 122 has a length in direction of relative movement, allowing the connection of the oil path to be maintained within a range where the crank case side sliding member 123 and the block side sliding member 122 relatively move. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
