PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system that appropriately exchanges channel state information in the case that a mobile station device communicates with a base station device by aggregating a carrier without backward compatibility and a carrier with backward compatibility.

SOLUTION: In a communication system, a mobile station device and a base station device perform communication by aggregating the frequency band of a cell and an expansion frequency band to expand the frequency band. The mobile station device determines a sub-band configuration based on the number of resource blocks composed of resources of a certain frequency region/time region formed in the expansion frequency band, and sends the base station device channel state information of one or more sub-bands according to the configuration. The base station device determines the sub-band configuration formed in the expansion frequency band to obtain information indicating one or more channel states according to the configuration of the sub-band.
