<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutter for preventing damage of a surface of a booklet due to conveyance, and easily dealing with change of the size of the booklet. <P>SOLUTION: The cutter includes: a positioning actuator 12 provided with a moving part 12a; a hand unit 14 grasping the booklet B by regarding a back B1 of the booklet B as a reference; vertical contact faces 162, 182, 192 capable of contacting one face of the booklet; and cutting blades 166, 186, 196 capable of being horizontally reciprocated. The positioning actuator 12 moves the moving part 12a, adjusts a vertical position or a horizontal position of the booklet to be cut, and contacts one face of the booklet on the contact faces 162, 182, 192.
