<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium accumulation apparatus and a medium treatment apparatus satisfactorily accumulating a medium regardless of attribute thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The medium accumulation apparatus is provided with: a conveyer 17 continuously conveying a medium; a measuring unit 8 measuring the attribute of the medium conveyed by the conveyer 17; an introducing unit 20 introducing the medium whose attribute is measured by the measuring unit 8; an accumulation unit 16 accumulating the medium introduced by the introducing unit 20; a displacing unit 22 displacing a rear part of the medium introduced to the accumulation unit 16 in the face direction in relation to the advancing direction of the rear part; and a controller variably controlling the displacing speed by the displacing unit 22 on the basis of the attribute of the medium measured by the measuring unit 8.
