<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller capable of effectively suppressing a motor current without degrading stability of motor control. <P>SOLUTION: A current command value restriction section 74 restricts a γ-axis current command value to be not more than a current command upper limit value Ilim calculated by a current command upper value calculation section 73. A switching control section 75 provided at the current command upper limit calculation section 73 determines whether or not a control state of a motor is stable, based on a basic component of an addition angle corresponding to a motor rotational angle variation per calculation cycle, namely, a first change component dθτ based on a torque deviation Δτ and an induced voltage (induced voltage square sum Esq_αβ) generated by the rotation of the motor.
