<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cook a cooking object by an induction heating cooker by properly controlling a heating power not to boil over, especially when boiling a noodle. <P>SOLUTION: An induction heating cooker comprises a heating coil 3 heating a pan 1, a top plate 2 holding the pan 1 above the heating coil 3, infrared detection means 5 provided on an undersurface of the top plate 2 for detecting infrared rays radiated from the bottom surface of the pan 1, temperature detection means 6 detecting a temperature of the pan 1 based on the output from the infrared detection means 5, and control means 9 detecting heating based on an output from the temperature detection means 6. The control means 9 decreases a heating amount when detecting that a temperature inside the pan 1 reaches a boiling temperature, and determines a bottom thickness based on a temperature change degree in decrement. The control means 9 increases the heating amount in the case where the determined bottom thickness of the pan is thick, and decreases the heating amount in the case where the determined bottom thickness of the pan is thin.
