<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coal molded body which is the one using low-grade coal, has a sufficiently high initial strength immediately after molding and a minimal drop in strength thereafter despite a history of heating, water absorption and the like during transportation and storage. <P>SOLUTION: The coal molded body includes: dehydrated low-grade coal; and a water-insoluble organic compound having a viscosity average molecular weight of 10,000 or higher to which the coal is bonded.
