<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of a particulate-matter processing device. <P>SOLUTION: A particulate-matter processing device includes: an electrode provided in an exhaust passage of an internal combustion engine; a power supply connected to the electrode in order to apply a voltage thereto; a particle-number detecting device that detects or estimates the particle number of particulate matter on the upstream side from the electrode; and a control device that reduces the voltage, applied to the electrode, when the particle number of particulate matter to be detected or estimated by the particle-number detecting device is smaller than the threshold, compared with when it is larger than the threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
