<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing device capable of keeping searchability for report information containing device setting information in a PC and keeping browsability for the report information by printing. <P>SOLUTION: In an MFP100 that can be connected with a USB memory 103, a text file 105 and markup file 104 for report information containing device setting information are generated, and their file names are generated using one of a plurality of patterns. Then, the name of a folder that stores the generated files is generated using one of the plurality of patterns, and the folder having the generated folder name is generated within the USB memory.
