<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact, low power consumption and high efficiency power amplifier and an amplification control method that transmit high PAPR radio waves over a wide band. <P>SOLUTION: In a control section 5, a CPU 53 peak-holds and updates at predetermined timings a maximum value of a measured level signal about an input signal, refers to an LUT 52 with the updated peak-held value to set a supply voltage applied to a final stage amplification section 4 by a power supply section 3, and then refers to an LUT 51 to read out distortion compensation data for DPD processing by a preamplifier 2 such that a signal resulting from DPD processing and amplification of the input signal is output to the final stage amplification section 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
