<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an edge light type backlight device that is configured to be able to so support a light guide plate as not to let the light guide plate come into contact with an LED and to prevent luminance and luminance uniformity from deteriorating. <P>SOLUTION: A backlight device 10 comprises: a backlight chassis 1; a light guide plate 5; a plurality of LEDs 6; light source substrates 2a to 2f; and a regulating member 4. The plurality of LEDs 6 are mounted on the surface of the light source substrates 2a to 2f and, out of the gap parts between adjoining LEDs 6, at least any one has a first through hole 12 formed penetrating in the thickness direction. The regulating member 4, intended for regulation of the shifting of the light guide plate 5 in the planar direction, has a shank 7b that is inserted into the first through hole 12, a contact part 7a that is contiguous to one end of the shank 7b in the axial direction and comes into contact with an end face of the light guide plate 5, and a fitting part 8 that fits onto the other end of the shank 7b in the axial direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
