<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing methanol highly efficiently from lower hydrocarbons such as natural gas. <P>SOLUTION: This method comprises: a reforming step for generating synthesis gas including hydrogen and carbon monoxide as main components by reforming lower hydrocarbon gas to which steam and carbon dioxide are added in the presence of a catalyst; a methanol synthesis step for synthesizing methanol by reacting the synthesis gas obtained in the reforming step in the presence of a catalyst; a recycle step for separating methanol synthesized in the methanol synthesis step, and joining residual gas containing unreacted gas into the synthesis gas as recycle gas; and a hydrogen separation step for separating hydrogen gas from at least a part of the recycle gas, and joining the hydrogen gas into the synthesis gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
