<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a framework that improves workability and reduces deformation of sliding plates due to side force transmitted to the sliding plates via each crosshead. <P>SOLUTION: The framework 3 includes: each partition wall 13 that has a first plate which partitions between cylinders and forms a central portion in the width direction, and second plates which are respectively located on the fuel pump side and the exhaust side of the first plate so as to form a fuel-pump-side portion and an exhaust-side portion; and each sliding plate 12 that is arranged between the first plate and each second plate, and guides each crosshead.
