<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor which restrains a high-temperature and high-pressure operating refrigerant located in a sealed vessel from leaking into an intake port to the utmost extent, and improves volume efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: In this rotary compressor, air holes of a sintered material present on a surface of an inner peripheral surface of an intake port 17 facing a cylinder chamber 6 can be sealed by providing a hole sealing means for the surface of the inner peripheral surface of the intake port 17.
