<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of reducing a noise level of a gear box when a back gear is engaged in the gear box in which the back gear has no synchronizer. <P>SOLUTION: The gear box control device for the automobile having a forward gear and the back gear includes: a drive shaft (18) having a main axial line (A); a plurality of drive elements (30, 32, 34, 36) associated with the gear; a clutch sleeve (24) having a drive finger (42) connected to the drive elements; a selection mask (26); and a brake device (44) including a rocker arm lever (46) connected to a fixation support body (48) around an axial line (D) orthogonal to the main axial line (A) by a joint portion.
