<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorber which is lightweight and yet can absorb relatively great energy, also absorbs energy with a small stroke, thereby enabling a living space within a vehicle to be enlarged. <P>SOLUTION: An arcuate energy absorber is provided which includes a rim part and a bowstring part connecting both ends of the rim part. Between a terminal of the rim part and a center of the rim part, the rim part is curved and/or bent in a projecting shape to a side of the bowstring part.
