<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound improving system that uses active noise reducing (ANR) and engine sound strengthening (ESE) controllers to achieve an optimum room experience for a driver during a driving time, and to provide a method for controlling a sound in a vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes: an ANR controller 26; an ESE controller 28; and a sound improving controller 30. When a vehicle is in a steady-state driving condition, the sound improving controller 30 operates the ANR controller 26 and stops the ESE controller 28. Alternatively, when the vehicle is in a non-steady-state driving condition, the sound improving controller 30 operates the ESE controller 28 and stops the ANR controller 26. Preferably, when the vehicle changes the steady-state and non-steady-state driving conditions, the sound improving controller 30 operates and stops the ANR and ESE controllers 26, 28 at a speed which a person does not notice. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
