<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Braille device capable of reducing dispersion of Braille positions of Braille characters and easily switchable to be the one for 6 points and the one for 8 points by replacing only a part of the Braille device. <P>SOLUTION: An upper plate and a lower plate of the Braille device are made attachable and detachable at a hinge part, and the device is switched to the one for 6 points and the one for 8 points by replacing the upper plate. A plurality of sets of projections, each set including a plurality of hemispherical or bell-shaped projections equivalent for one Braille character, and a convex frame for holding a Braille medium with the upper plate are formed on the lower plate, and each set of the plurality of projections is surrounded by the convex frame.
