<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording/reproducing apparatus with which a user can easily search and view a program that belongs to a desired genre even if no program that belongs to the desired genre is currently broadcasted. <P>SOLUTION: The video recording/reproducing apparatus 100 includes a broadcast waves receiving part 110 which receives television broadcast waves, a video recording part 120 which records a program being broadcasted that is obtained by the broadcast waves receiving part 110, a reproducing part 130 which reproduces either a program being broadcasted which is obtained by the broadcast waves receiving part 110 or a program having been recorded which is obtained by the video recording part 120, and a control part 140 which controls the broadcast waves receiving part 110, the video recording part 120, and the reproducing part 130 on the basis of the operation of a user on a remote controller 1.
