<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time required for printing. <P>SOLUTION: The printer 20 transports a printing medium S, stops the printing medium S at a position where ink is ejected from a print head 32, and determines a position of the transported printing medium S. Just after it is determined that the printing medium S is in a two-roller region (a predetermined transportation position) in which the printing medium S is transported by two transporting rollers, the printer 20 measures a deceleration stoppage time period until the printing medium S is stopped. The printer 20 sets a movement start timing of the print head 32 on the basis of the measured deceleration stoppage time period, starts moving the print head 32 at the set movement start timing and performs an overlapping operation for starting to move the print head 32 in synchronization with the transporting operation of the printing medium S. Thus, when the printing medium S is allowed to reach the two-roller region and is transported more stably, the printer 20 sets the movement start timing of the print head 32 on the basis of the measured time period until the printing medium S is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
