摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a halftone display and response of a low voltage side of a vertical alignment liquid crystal. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device 1 has a structure where an array substrate 2 and an opposing substrate 3 are opposed while interposing a liquid crystal layer 4. The array substrate 2 includes a first electrode 7, a second electrode 6, and an alignment maintenance layer 8. The first electrode 7 is comb-shaped, being electrically connected with an active element. The second electrode 6 is formed under the first electrode 7 via an insulation layer 53, being comb-shaped, and including a protruding portion from the first electrode 7 in the comb teeth alignment. The alignment maintenance layer 8 is formed on the face in contact with the liquid crystal layer 4 to perform liquid crystal alignment in the direction in which the second electrode 6 protrudes from the first electrode 7 in the comb teeth alignment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
