<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving assistance device of a vehicle for improving the fuel economy. <P>SOLUTION: The device for assisting driving of the vehicle to improve the fuel economy includes a means detecting an accelerator opening degree of the own vehicle, a means 136 calculating an autocorrelation function of the accelerator opening degree based on the time series data of the accelerator opening degree, a means 137 calculating the frequency of accelerator operation of the own vehicle based on the value of the autocorrelation function, a means detecting an acceleration of the own vehicle, a means 131 calculating the power spectrum corresponding to the frequency from the frequency analysis of the acceleration, and a means 133 performing an arithmetical operation on the single regression line of the power spectrum and calculating the maximum value of a variation in gradient of the single regression line in a predetermined frequency range as a gradient maximum value. The device performs driving assistance when the frequency of acceleration operation is lower than a predetermined value and the gradient maximum value shows a sign of traffic jam ahead of the own vehicle. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
