<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discharge lamp formed by sealing a heat conductor into a sealed space of an electrode, in which the heat conductor fused in the sealed space in the electrode during lamp lighting is convected, and cracks are prevented from being generated at the electrode tip even in a situation where heat at the tip of an electrode body cannot be efficiently transferred to the rear end side of the electrode body. <P>SOLUTION: A discharge lamp includes a pair of electrodes inside a light-emitting tube 10. In at least one electrode 12, a heat conductor M is sealed into a sealed space 18 formed inside thereof. An internal wall surface 2 of the electrode 12 having the sealed space 18 is provided with a tip surface 2a formed on the electrode tip side, and a side surface 2b extending toward the electrode rear end side following the tip surface.
