<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device that implements protection from a load short circuit in a simple circuit configuration dispensing with a resistance for current detection. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic control device includes a control circuit having: a trigger circuit having a capacitor 23 connected between a pulse generator 3 and a second switching element 21; and a latch circuit connected via a diode 25 between a junction of a load 4 and a first switching element 11 and a base terminal of the second switching element 21. When the pulse generator outputs a driving signal, the second switching element 21 is turned on via the trigger circuit for a predetermined time to turn on the first switching element 11, and the second switching element 21 is held on via the latch circuit by a voltage at the junction. When the driving signal is stopped, both first and second switching elements are turned off. If the load short-circuits, the second switching element 21 is turned off via the latch circuit by the voltage at the junction to turn off the first switching element 11 even while the pulse generator 3 outputs the driving signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
