<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to accurately obtain a photometric value of a main subject when light is pre-emitted even in a case where a main subject is present in an area where a quantity of peripheral light is decreasing. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus that causes the pre-emission of light by light emitting means before the main emission of light by it comprises: photometric means for measuring light; pre-emission light quantity calculation means for calculating a quantity of light pre-emitted by the light emitting means; main-emission light quantity calculation means for calculating a quantity of light mainly emitted by the light emitting means, based on a photometric value obtained through the light measurement made by the photometric means when the light emitting means is caused to pre-emit light; and setting means for setting a target area within a photographic screen when the quantity of pre-emitted light is calculated by the pre-emission light quantity means. The pre-emission light quantity calculating means makes the quantity of pre-emitted light in the case where the target area is located on the peripheral part of the photographic screen larger than that in the case where the target area is located in the central part of the photographic screen. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
