<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underrun protector installing structure capable of increasing an energy absorbing stroke, and capable of freely setting a load characteristic of an energy absorber. <P>SOLUTION: A protector installing bracket 6 for supporting a front underrun protector 5 under a front end part of a chassis frame 4, is rotatably supported via a rotary shaft extending in the vehicle width direction in the front end part of the chassis frame 4. When an impact load exceeding a predetermined load is applied to the front underrun protector 5 by a collision of a vehicle 1, a bracket rear end part 24 of the protector installing bracket 6 is inserted from below into an opening 12 arranged in a bottom wall part 10 of the chassis frame 4, and presses the energy absorber 7 arranged between an upper wall part 9 of the chassis frame 4 and an upper surface of the bracket rear end part 24 of the protector installing bracket 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
