The device has photodetector bars (B1, B2) parallel to each other and having two areas formed to be scanned by same portion of images, where the areas form a pair of inter-bar regions (Z-IB1, Z-IB2). Each inter-bar region includes an active optical component (C-A) for introducing optical aberration on the image portion, where the shape or optical thickness of the optical component varies in accordance with applied command. An electric control unit (ME) acquires and analyzes images from the bars, where the control unit includes an algorithm of phase diversity. An independent claim is also included for a scanning telescope.
