A high-output cathode active material is provided to realize improved high-temperature storage characteristics, to enlarge the driving range of a spinel-like lithium manganese oxide, thereby imparting improved high-temperature cycle characteristics to a lithium secondary battery. A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery with a limited capacity of an anode comprises: (i) a lithium manganese oxide having a spinel structure(referred to as spinel-like lithium manganese oxide); and (ii) an electrode active material having a plateau where gas generation occurs in a charging region(referred to as an electrode active material having a plateau). The cathode active material comprises 50-90 wt% of the lithium manganese oxide and 10-50 wt% of a lithium metal oxide. |
