The method involves obtaining (S10) multiple two-dimensional x-ray image data sets by using an x-ray image capturing device. Multiple motion fields are partially modified (S22a,S22n), where multiple modified three-dimensional x-ray image data sets (S24a,S24n) are calculated using the modified motion fields. The modified three-dimensional x-ray image data sets are used to combine a reference image data set to a new three-dimensional x-ray image data set.
