The invention provides a waterborneantifouling coating composition comprising (i) a binder polymer,(ii) a pigment and (iii) no biocide or a biocide selected from (a) a copper biocide or a copper biocide in combination with at least one or more co-biocide(s), or(b)a copper-free biocide or a copper-free biocidein combination with at least oneor moreco-biocide(s), with the proviso that the biocide is not a copper biocide in combination with zinc pyrithione, and wherein the pigment volume concentration of the waterborne antifouling coating composition is greater than 80% and less than 95%.
