PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst layer for a fuel cell which shows superior power generation performance at a high temperature and in a non-humidified state; the catalyst layer for the fuel cell provided with a substrate using the same; a gas diffusion electrode for a fuel cell; a laminate of the catalyst layer for the fuel cell and an electrolyte membrane; a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell; a fuel cell; and a method for producing the same.

SOLUTION: The catalyst layer 2 for the fuel cell is the catalyst layer 2 for the fuel cell containing an electrolyte and a catalysis. The electrolyte contains an ionic liquid, a solid acid and phosphoric acids. In addition, the catalyst layer 2 for the fuel cell is produced by using a composition for forming a catalyst layer, which contains a solid acid, an ionic liquid, phosphoric acids and a catalysis, or is produced by applying one or more electrolytes selected from the group consisting of an ionic liquid and phosphoric acids to a catalyst layer formed by using the composition for forming the catalyst layer when the composition for forming the catalyst layer does not contain one or more electrolytes selected from the group consisting of an ionic liquid and phosphoric acids.
