<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a meta-information generation device and program that can generate meta-information about a position of a subject to be monitored from sensor information in accordance with the situation of the subject. <P>SOLUTION: A meta-information generation device comprises: multiple meta-information generation modules for receiving input of sensor information from multiple sensor nodes, processing the sensor information in accordance with different algorithms, and generating meta-information of equivalent quality; a meta-information integration module for receiving input of meta-information from the meta-information generation modules, processing the meta-information in accordance with one algorithm, and generating the maximum likelihood meta-information; and a database for accumulating maximum likelihood meta-information.
