<p>The wireless detection beacon (100) is for use with a Radio Frequency (RF) interrogator (402) transmitting at a first frequency and receiving at a second frequency. The wireless detection beacon (100 ) includes a substrate, a power supply (105) carried by the substrate, an antenna assembly (102,114) carried by the substrate, and a local oscillator (LO) (112) carried by the substrate and configured to be powered by the power supply (105) to provide an LO signal at a third frequency. A mixer (104) is carried by the substrate and coupled to the antenna assembly (102,114) and the LO. The mixer (104) is configured to generate an outgoing beacon signal to the antenna assembly (102, 114) at the second frequency based upon mixing an incoming signal from the RF interrogator (402) at the first frequency with the LO signal at the third frequency.</p> |
