The unit (1) has an optical image capture module (6) and a housing module (2). The image capture means detects a flagstone region of a motorcar, and produces an electronic detection signal. The housing module is formed with a partial recessed arrangement in which a carriageway (50) is traversed. The image capture module is partially sunk in an aperture of the housing module such that the image capture module is extended against driving direction of motorcar to detect the flagstone region during over driving of the housing module.
