<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of hitch stitches. <P>SOLUTION: A sewing machine comprises: a needle bar rotation mechanism 30 which rotates a needle bar 12 around a vertically moving axis; a thread handler mechanism 50 which pulls a bobbin thread in by a thread handler member 51 on a lower side of a needle plate; a cloth moving mechanism 80 which moves a workpiece in an arbitrary moving direction along a horizontal surface and allows a needle to locate at any position; and a control unit 90 which controls the cloth moving mechanism based on sewing data. The control unit pulls a thread in by the thread handler mechanism when the moving direction of the workpiece for each needle location by the cloth moving mechanism is within a predetermined first angular range, and performs the rotation of the needle bar by the needle bar rotation mechanism when the moving direction is within a predetermined second angular range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
