PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To demodulate a transmitted signal with high accuracy.

SOLUTION: A receiving apparatus comprises: an amplification part which amplifies a received signal; an adjustment part which adjusts a gain of the amplification part according to electric power of the signal; a demodulation part which demodulates the amplified signal; and a detection part which detects a section where information on the same content is continuous from the signal. The adjustment part restricts processing which adjusts the gain of the amplification part according to the detection result of the section. This disclosure can be applied to a receiving apparatus which receives a broadcast signal compliant to DVB-C2 via a CATV network.
