<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dynamically and inexpensively achieve the scale-up/down of a database having a stream type replication function by utilizing its stream type replication function without stopping a Web service. <P>SOLUTION: Disclosed is a scale-up/down method including first and second databases operating on virtual machines whose performances are different for exchanging virtual machines which are used by the system in response to an instruction from the outside to scale-up and scale-down the performance of the system. The system is characterized by including: a first step of achieving the data synchronization of the databases by using a stream type replication function installed in each of those databases; and a second step of switching the virtual machine for transferring an SQL sentence with the other virtual machine after the data synchronization is established. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
