#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves generating electromagnetic radiation (2) in a terahertz-frequency region with a radiation source (1). The electromagnetic radiation is directed to a hollow body i.e. pipe section, where the electromagnetic radiation reflected from the hollow body and an object (4) i.e. seal, is detected by a radiation detector (5). The object is partially extended into the hollow body that is partially made of plastic material, where the object is extended between the hollow body and a functional element that is connected with the hollow body. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for detecting an object i.e. seal such as a O-seal ring and half-moon seal ring, in a hollow body e.g. pipe section, housing section (all claimed) and flange, using a RADAR e.g. frequency modulated continuous-wave-RADAR. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method enables detecting the object in the hollow body in a simple manner, so that the quality assurance of the hollow bodies with the seal is ensured in an inexpensive manner, while enhancing safety of an operating place against electromagnetic radiation.
