<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal shield which is integrated with a vehicle subassembly and thus allows vehicle manufacturers to avoid handling the thermal shield as a separate component from a stock item and a vehicle assembly. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal shield and a thermal shield assembly for protecting components that are subjected to heat are disclosed. The thermal shield includes a cover formed so as to cover the components, and the cover has a heat reflection layer and a thermal insulation layer. The cover is attached to a clip for detachably attaching the cover to the components. A tab having flexibility and elasticity extends from the cover. The tab provides means for attaching the thermal shield to a wiring harness and forms an assembly that may be connected with the components. When the wiring harness is connected with the components, the tab may be bent so as to relatively move the cover from a position spaced away from the components to a position where the cover covers the components. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
