The device (40) has a sliding sleeve (42) axially displaceable into two connection positions in axial directions (44, 46) for connecting respective idler gears (34, 36) to a shaft (26). A pre-synchronizing unit exerts pre-synchronization force on a synchronizer ring by a spring in order to adjust rotational speed of the shaft and one of the idler gears. Another pre-synchronizing unit exerts pre-synchronization force on another synchronizer ring by another spring in order to adjust the rotational speed of the shaft and the other idler gear.
