<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-pressure pump, which has a simply configured housing so as to reduce its weight. <P>SOLUTION: A lower housing 11, an upper housing 15 and a cover 31 constituting a housing of this high-pressure pump 1 are formed as bodies separate from each other. Shapes of the separate lower housing 11, the upper housing 15 and the cover 31 are simplified to reduce wasteful portions. In the high-pressure pump 1, while the cylinder 13 and a plunger 51 receive a fuel pressure of a pressurization chamber 14 during a pressurization step, the upper housing 15 and the cover 31 do not receive the fuel pressure of the pressurization chamber 14 directly.
