<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid state image pickup device for continuously performing global shutter operation at a high speed without deteriorating driving accuracy of pixels. <P>SOLUTION: The solid state image pickup device comprises: a pixel array in which unit pixels having photoelectric conversion elements are arranged one-dimensionally or two-dimensionally; a changeover switch for selectively switching a signal voltage given to the unit pixels; and a pixel driving part for selectively applying a first signal voltage, a second signal voltage higher than the first signal voltage and a third signal voltage to the unit pixels by switching the changeover switch to drive the unit pixels. The pixel driving part simultaneously executes any of accumulation, holding, transfer, resetting and discharge of photoelectrons generated on the photoelectric conversion elements of plural unit pixels by applying the third signal voltage via a third contact point to the unit pixels, when the first signal voltage is switched to the second signal voltage and when the second signal voltage is switched to the first signal voltage, while alternately applying the first signal voltage and the second signal voltage to the plural unit pixels. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
