<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal processing device and a signal processing method that reconcile suppression of clipping occurrence and suppression of volume reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The signal processing device includes: band division means for calculating an amplitude indicative of sound pressure from an acoustic signal in each frequency band; first correction means for correcting the amplitude in each frequency band to shift the dynamic range of the amplitude to a target predetermined dynamic range; determination means for determining whether or not a maximum amplitude indicating a maximum amplitude of the amplitude corrected by the first correction means is at least a predetermined threshold; adjustment means for, if the determination means determines that the threshold is reached, adjusting values of first and second coefficients on a first condition that a result of addition of a value of the uncorrected amplitude of the maximum amplitude multiplied by the first coefficient and a value of the correction correctively applied to the maximum amplitude multiplied by the second coefficient is below the upper limit value; and second correction means for adding up a value of the acoustic signal multiplied by the first coefficient and a value of the amplitude correction multiplied by the second coefficient, and outputting a result of addition as an output signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
