<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut down redundant traffic by making use of caches without closing a single network. <P>SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an inlet-side cache node caches a received packet therein, calculates a hash value, generates a hash packet, and stores in a cache table a set of the äcached packet hash value and original packet information}. Then it transfers the hash packet and the original packet to the respective paths and, when a packet entered in the cache table is received, transfers only the hash packet. When the original cache is received, an outlet-side cache node calculates a hash value of the original packet using the same hash function as in the inlet-side cache node, and stores the ähash value and original packet information} in a cache table.
