摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst energization control device capable of achieving cost reduction by restraining the flow of a large current without impairing the early activation of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst energization control device applied to a catalyst device (EHC) constituted carrying a catalyst on a base material includes a duty control means for performing duty control so that power supplied to the base material is target power when the base material has such a characteristic (NTC characteristic) that an own electric resistance value decreases accompanied by a rise of a temperature, and an power shortage computing means for computing a shortage S1 in the total supply power to the target total power in an power shortage period B1 until a catalyst temperature rises to a temperature at which a resistance value that can input target power is obtained after the start of energization to the base material.
