<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a navigation device, which performs guidance of a recommended route by activating an application having a navigation function, to reduce power consumption while traveling a section in which it is not necessary to perform guidance on the recommended route. <P>SOLUTION: A navigation device acquires location information of a section having an interval of a predetermined or more distance between junctions on a recommended route, as guidance unnecessary section information in advance. The device starts to perform route guidance processing and measures a current location (S41). When the current location reaches the route guidance unnecessary section (S44:Yes), the device executes termination processing of a navigation application (S45).
