<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a bio-dissolvable inorganic fiber having a small fiber diameter. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing an inorganic fiber in which an inorganic raw material comprising 70 wt.% or more of silica and 10 to 30 wt.% of magnesia and calcia is heated and melted in a container to produce a molten liquid having a melt viscosity of 15 poises or below, the molten liquid is fed to a rotor rotating at an acceleration of 70 km/s<SP POS="POST">2</SP>or higher to draw the molten liquid into fibers by a centrifugal force by the rotation of the rotor, air is sprayed to the periphery of the rotor to blow away the fibers, and the fibers are collected to produce fibers having an average fiber diameter of 5 μm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
