PURPOSE: A friction element is provided to increase the torque of a clutch by pressing friction plates by amplifying the piston force of operation pressure. CONSTITUTION: A friction element comprises a connection hub(210), a retainer(220), a friction plate(270), a piston(230), and an elastic member. The retainer is coupled with the exterior portion of a connection hub. The friction plate is arranged between partitions(255) and connected to a transferring hub(280). The piston is arranged on the connection hub for forming a piston chamber with the connection hub. The piston is operated by the pressure supplied by a piston chamber(140). An elastic member pressing unit(236) is formed on the exterior surface of the piston. The elastic member presses a pressing plate(250) by using the pressing force of the piston following a lever ratio.
