<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vaccine which contains conjugated capsular saccharide originated from a plurality of meningococcal serogroups, and avoids the risk of carrier-induced epitopic suppression. <P>SOLUTION: A composition is prepared for immunising a patient against a disease caused by Neisseria meningitidis, and the composition contains at least two of: (a) a conjugate of the capsular saccharide of serogroup A Neisseria meningitidis and a carrier protein; (b) a conjugate of the capsular saccharide of serogroup C Neisseria meningitidis and a carrier protein; (c) a conjugate of the capsular saccharide of serogroup W135 Neisseria meningitidis and a carrier protein; (d) a conjugate of the capsular saccharide of serogroup Y Neisseria meningitidis and a carrier protein, wherein at least two of the conjugates (a), (b), (c) and (d) use the same carrier protein (the common carrier); and a composition includes the common carrier in an unconjugated form, wherein the concentration of the unconjugated common carrier is less than 10 μg/ml. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
