PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To downsize a connection apparatus by supplying electricity from a host electronic apparatus.

SOLUTION: An electronic apparatus 10 comprises: a connection unit 40 which has a connection terminal to be connected with a connection apparatus and a power supply terminal; a detection unit 220 for detecting an electrical potential in the connection terminal; a power source control unit 210 for starting power supply via the power supply terminal on detecting potential change in the connection terminal; and an apparatus identification unit for identifying a type of the connection apparatus based on a detection result of an electrical potential in the connection terminal after starting the power supply. An electronic apparatus system comprises the electronic apparatus 10 and the connection apparatus from which a power source unit is removed.
